Night Under the Stars is St. James School’s largest source of financial support for our children.  It is an evening of cocktails, dinner, dancing and four types of auctions; Chinese, Pandora’s Box, Silent and Live.  The evening concludes with a drawing of the lucky winner for the Wish Upon a Star Raffle which has a grand prize drawing of $10,000 in gold.  This year's committee is chaired by Mrs. Mary Plaza, Mrs. Lenore Convery, Mrs. Maria Carey,      Mrs. Tracey Seebode and Mrs. Mary Beth Savas.

The event is held on April 12, 2008 and the evening will beginning with cocktails at 6:30 P.M., in the school gym.  The theme will change from year to year.  Two raffle tickets are mailed home to each family by the first week in March.  We ask each family to buy or sell these two tickets.  The purchase of one ticket for $125 grants admission for two to the event.  Some families buy one ticket and sell the other to family or friends, who may also like to attend.  Some families buy both tickets themselves.  Other families call and request additional tickets for groups of friends or business acquaintances.

Remember, purchasing one of our 500 raffle tickets automatically enters you into our Wish Upon a Star Raffle, whether you attend the event or not.  This is truly a night you won’t want to miss!

Here’s how you can help.

Volunteer to work on a committee.  The committees are Advertising, Auction, Auction Set-Up, Corporate Donations, Raffle, Program, Reservations, Decorations, Beverages, Food and Publicity. 

Donate auction items.  All auction items and services are gladly accepted.  Be creative! Purchase or sell program advertisements.  The program is distributed to all who attend Night Under the Stars, over 500 people.  It is a great reminder for our school families to support those businesses that support St. James School.  You may work for a company that would purchase an ad. Many families also sell program ad space to businesses whose services they employ such as landscapers, pet groomers, dance and music programs, attorneys, ect.  Even though you might not be on the auction committee you can still ask for donation from those businesses that you frequent.  Parents have also purchased ad space to send special messages to their families.  To print out a Program Ad form click on the following link:Program_Ad_Form_2008.pdf
