  Grade 5: Regions

The Regions of the United States examines the five geographic regions of the United States dating back to the colonial period of American history. The course is designed to help students understand how each region of the United States is different from one another and how the regions were grouped by history, traditions, economy, climate, and geography. 

 

 

  Grade 6: The World

The World focuses on five geographic themes including location, place, human/environmental interaction, movement, and regions. The course is designed to help students understand the diversity and commonality, human interdependence, and global cooperation of the United States and the World through a multicultural and a historic perspective.

 

 

Grade 7: History of the United States I: Early Colonization to 1865  

The History of the United States I: Early Colonization to 1865 covers the period of United States history from early European colonization to the beginnings of the Civil War. The course is designed to motivate students to make personal connections to the people, events, and issues that formed the landscape of American history. 

 

 

Grade 8: History of the United States II: 1865 to the Present

The History of the United States II: 1865 to the Present covers the period of United States history from the end of the Civil War to the Present. The course is designed to help students develop an understanding of how the American experience shaped the world's political and economic landscapes of the early twentieth century.
