Spring Jam raises $60,000-plus for Saint James School

On April 1, Dolce Hotel in Basking Ridge set the stage for the St. James School annual fundraising gala “Spring Jam,” which raised more than $60,000 to support the Basking Ridge-based school’s mission of continuing academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment.

With more than 220 in attendance from the school, parish and local community, guests enjoyed a cocktail reception followed by a buffet dinner. The event included an interactive performance by the New York-based Dueling Pianos, which had guests dancing, singing, and competing for song requests. Additional event highlights included premier live and silent auctions, a Wine Pull, 50/50 raffle, Keys to the Jewelry Box, Mystery Envelope and Golden Ticket.

“Spring Jam was a great success and a testament to the commitment of staff and parents to support, academic excellence at our school,” said Carolanne Patetta, event chair, in a news release.

St. James School, in the Diocese of Metuchen, is a co-ed, Catholic elementary school serving students Pre-K through 8th grade, at 200 S. Finley Ave., in the Basking Ridge section of Bernards.

Special guests included Monsignor Sylvester Cronin and the Rev. Dario Endiape, of St. James Church and Sister Joann Marie Aumand, the new principal at St. James School.

“Sister Joann comes to us with a great deal of administrative experience in Catholic education. We are blessed to have her with us at St. James,” Cronin said.

“This was a wonderful opportunity to grow our school spirit and to deepen our relationships within our St. James Community," Aumand added. The evening was entertaining and provided time to relax with each other."

Spring Jam sponsorships were supported by Mirada Pharmaceuticals and Basking Ridge businesses including Dr. Daniel Carey, DDS, Bruzzichesi Orthodontics, Basking Ridge Electric, Somerset Hills Physical Therapy, and The Uncommon Thread of Stirling, Maffey’s Security of Elizabeth, and Donnelly Industries of Wayne.
